The boys are back in town! Last night was the MSU Bobcat Gold Rush, one of the must attended sporting events in the entire state, and I was given the chance to go check it out. It’s called Gold Rush because students, parents, and fans of the MSU Bobcats dress in gold to rally for the first game of the season. Bozeman has been my home for the past seven years and this was my first time going to the game.
I will be the first to admit that I am not the biggest sports fan, but I definitely appreciate the culture behind it. For instance, I was amazed to see how tailgaters had all kinds of different set ups and served everything from the traditional grilled hot dogs and burgers to the more adventurous crab legs.
Then you have the crowds of fans, with painted faces and all in gold uniform. It was so much fun experiencing something that others care so deeply about, especially when it’s something as American as football and the home team wins.
